Leave Your Heart Behind
You're the one
who came home with me
so don't take credit
I played you
Now you can
Make your way out of my bed... room door
Take your belongings
Leave your heart
I'm through,
I'm the one who used you
there's no gravity when i'm around you.
i'm so happy i finally found you.
i'm floating through my dreams.
is there gravity when i'm around you?
am i drifting through your dreams?
how is it that i'm gravitating toward you,
when there's nothing to hold me down?
i'm dreaming when i'm around you.
if you're afraid, i will hold you.
its just like i've always told you,
when theres no gravity you can't fall,
so keep dreaming.
when you're kicking and you're screaming,
or just can't find the meaning, i'll hold you.
when you can't stand to be alone,
when you cant stand to be at home,
i'll hold you til we're both crying.
i'll hold you lo
I saw the headlights coming head on
and all i could think about was saving you
everything moved in slow motion
i watched the collision approachin
but i threw my arm across your chest in the comotion
tried to catch your life with my right arm
the impact sent your life flashing before my eyes
that drunk driver almost cost me your life
but a broken arm is little to trade to save you
it's my life before yours
i may never write again, but i have you
i may never throw a ball, except for a miracle
i may never wrap both arms around you, but at least i have you
if it came down to it, i'd break every bone just for you
it's my life or your
the ocean rolls and waves crash in time
with lightening and thunder's constant rhyme
mercilessly crushing a vessel past its prime
as effortlessly as a well thought out crime
through many storms pain has been groomed
to be natural as the waves that once loomed
now rise again and crashed and boomed
on the deck where the captain once fumed
his weather beaten hands are at his sides
in submission to the uncontrollable tides
he no longer fights against what the storm hides
he watches in hopes that the storm subsides
one time he may have stood noble and tall
he used to set sail on an adventure each fall
he would leave behind his great

Romance comes with time
dont let me break your heart
i wont fake this on my part
dont put all your faith in me
keep some for yourself
and some day we will be
able to take romance off the shelf
i'll dust off my broken heart
take this token on my part
i'll kiss your lips a thousand times over
hold your heart in my arms
press your skin to mine forever
hold your head away from harm
hand in hand
heart in heart
we wont land
this is the start

Where Angels Belong FINAL
air stands still and this room remains frozen
clock hands read half past love and hold their place
eyes entwine reading secrets held within
lights fade, candle fires flicker on her face
afraid to shatter silence with digression
risk tainting beauty flaunted in this instant
ruin perfect depiction with expression
caution flees from emotions acceptant
smile on unformed lips whispers for lonely ear
for fear sound will alert silence of our presence
hush in reverance of sentiment that lingers here
the impending storm lulled by tranquility's essence
eyes shut to store away these images forever
her countenance engrained in memory as
Crimson fauna lasting the dark,
Helps with many a wounded mark.
All around shall turmoil subside,
Giving way that peace may abide.
Worth living for, I shall ask.
In all terms, yes, nothing to mask.
Raging emotions swirl in heart,
Stars form in eyes darkened part.
When all seems lost,
Coming again to clear the frost,
To raise up a crumpled man,
She reaches and grasps my slender hand.
A rush of warmth, the storm's lull,
Sweeps through my pained soul.
All is worth living for,
Feeling comfort once more.
She's a majestic work of art
Holding the key to my heart.
Looking deep in paired shining stars,
I see behind black velvet a light
Bursting forth, showering both near and far
With a glow to banish all fear and plight.
Under sand colored surface lies more,
More than a simple creation of complexion,
More than could ever be dreamt before;
A passion burns, avoiding elimination.
With humble head held high,
Grace flows out in an endless stream,
Struggling to show both the weak and shy
That they are loved no matter how it may seem.
Though no credit to this flower be given
For nearly all the hope she shares,
She continues to love even the hidden,
Even when inside deep pain flares.
Withdrawing
Silent vigil o'er lifeless
soul except for breath
which holds eyes fixed
upon sight of joy, pain,
fun again, which lives
day to day as life-bringing
orb rises eternally and
fades to the silver reflection
of life's true reality.
Monotany of day broken
simply by the sight and kiss
of life's everlasting
hope, pride, care, so tender;
for only upon beholding
God's imagination are
spirits lifted to heights
unbeknownst to man.
But only men whom can't
imagine a life worth living
among the pains, sorrow,
falsehood of a web of
deception pulled to
veil eyes who for all
matters of concern choose
an imaginitive reality.

napping on the curb
staring at the stars
i swear the moon its shaking
city lights singing me to sleep
stolen couches hold hookah scents
lifeguard towers of tears and laughter
summer air in my hair
blown through open windows on open streets
guide the music to my ears
no fears and no tears
i'm lost in heaven right here with you
barbaques and brews, all of us and you
middle of the night trips to hollywood
three a.m. walking the boulevard
four a.m. back and causing trouble
this night will never end
this is the rest of our life my friend
with our wives we'll still live for fun
remanisce about the memories and then make some more
I hope some day i find the inspiration
to do everything that you have
my dedication is to you and to life
to a life only half as good as yours
but enough for me to say
i've made you proud
i'll sing your anthem loud
i'll scream your name at the ground
when it takes your life
i'll pass on your inspiration and dedication
to people, life, love, and family
in hopes that my son will hold me in his eyes
with half the respect i hold for you
and you're love for us
you'll be giving advice til the day you die
we'll listen, listen then cry
the time went by too fast this time
but we listened and now we cry
you're the cause of our eulogy
you're lying on your death bed
and i'd do anything to see you live again
but my hands are tied, my voice is gone
my tears won't stop flowing from my eyes
this is the first time i can't do anything
but watch your eyes close
like i wish mine would
this is the first time that i can't breath
for fear of breathing oxygen
that might belong to your last breath
my arms around you, like i need yours around me
just a word to me, its all i ask
just a simple goodbye, its all i ask
i wont hear it, your voice is gone
your eyes will say it, your voice is gone
Goodbye! Goodbye!
Don't leave me alone, i love you
i'll see you at home, i miss yo
life lasts but a moment then it falls by the wayside
so live each day for the ride of a lifetime
heartbreaks and crashing mistakes, they will all heal in time
but for now the hated chime of tear drops falling on the floor
attempt to free the heart and open the door to life again
so i'm writing on this paper, the thoughts of a tortured mind
sitting on the sands sublime
watching the ocean roll in time with my hearts beat
both calm and come to a peaceful halt, the sun sets on the past
pain inflicted will pass and the sun will rise at last
but not before tears crash swelling the waves of torment.
i've seen better, never worse, its nev
I turned around and i saw you standing there,
you're the one in the heels with long black hair.
gazing in your eyes i see
you're gonna be my brief demise.
you're gonna be the one that i despise after tonight.
dont speak the words i want to hear
dont cry the tears i want you to shed
dont say the apology i want to hear
dont fall on your knees, i want bloodshed
i can't read two faces with one pair of eyes
i can't see sincerity through heartbroken lies
i can't live with scars in my back
i can't live with claw marks on my neck
you made your choice, now you're losing your voice
but your apologies aren't working
you should have thought of me before making...

said you thought of me
but it only took a bottle of champagne
now you're gone again, and i welcome the pain
i'll toast to your success
hope for the best
for both of us

The old man smiles through clear blue eyes
and skies embracing fertile clouds
expectant with fractal flake children.
He doffs his hat of hazy mist
for geriatric trees, bald heads
displaying their crinkled-wood wisdom.
One hand adjusts his bare-earth tweed
to smooth the frost on collar hills
and straighten a river-ice necktie.
He wanders, smiling at his world
unfurled in tasteful winter shades
now painted on seasonal canvas.

Lay me, seated, at a table-faction of smiling dead: cadavers raising their forks and scalpels to their chests, gladly dining on themselves. Turn my head to that Roman rot; to the unknowing hairs of their long, unattached noses, strands overtaking the upturns of bottom lips; to the fingernails that question their place in the ranks of graves, and cusp the hollow of wine glasses like they do their own long-dissolved souls; and turn my head away from youespecially you, e sempre.
